Disc 1 Side Scissors (elbow across center line)
Goals in order of importance overview
1) Keep opp. posture broken
- By moving legs up to long end of lever by opp. head.
2) If opp. gets posture.
a) Move opp. elbow across center line - Go to side scissor
b) Move opp. elbow to center line
c) Move opp. elbows away from their body
3) If opp. gets posture and you can't break it.
- Monitor opp. shoulders and hips. When the shoulders are above the hips you can start attacking by using sitting up attacks.
4) If opp. stands
- Make sure she can't get vertical posture by controlling the head.
5) If opp. stands and gets vertical posture
-Attack with sweeps or attack legs
How to move into advantaged positions
-Move to advantage positions by making micro adjustments. To do this you need movement and angle. Example. knee pull (movement), shifting hips to opp side (angle). How do you do this against talented, resisting opp.? By using misdirection.
Side Scissor to Back Take @11:42
Opp. has two inside bicep ties
1) Get two on one grab (right hand grabs her wrist, left hand on her elbow). While moving opp. arm across your chest, knee pull (pull knees to your chest) back and slightly to your right. Immediately grab her far lat.
2) Straighten your left leg against opp hip, inverting your right knee down to the floor, then locking your ankles. You are now in side scissor position.
3) To take opp. back you have to get your head higher than hers. To do so, use a left leg pendulum movement to get on to your right elbow.
4) Move from your right elbow to your right hand. Move legs into back position.
5) One option - Use power half nelson to get her off her knees.
Note-some grips from closed guard which can be used are:

-Two on one-wrist
-Arm drag
-Elbow post
